We are a culture consultancy specialising in construction.

We partner with construction businesses to build cultures that perform, using data, insight and behavioural change to improve engagement, retention and business performance.

Our work turns culture into a measurable performance driver across teams, projects, management & leadership.

Why do you focus on construction?2026-04-27T16:01:12+00:00

The Condor Collective was founded by Paula and Holly, bringing over 50 years of combined experience across construction, with a deep understanding of both project environments and the functions that enable teams and businesses to perform.

We love the people, the pace and the complexity of projects. It is what makes construction such a unique and rewarding environment to work in.

We also see the opportunity to make the industry more rewarding for business leaders and teams alike. We know there is a significant opportunity to improve how teams experience work, how leaders lead and how culture supports performance.

What is The Happiness Survey?2026-04-27T16:03:56+00:00

The Happiness Survey is a construction-specific culture and engagement diagnostic tool designed to give you a clear, data-led view of how your team experiences your business.

It goes beyond a traditional survey, combining quantitative data with real team insight to create a complete picture of culture, leadership and performance.

Measuring 18 key drivers of workplace happiness, it provides depth across areas such as leadership, communication, development, recognition and inclusion, helping you understand what is really driving engagement across your business.

How does The Happiness Survey work?2026-04-28T09:47:09+00:00

Employees complete an anonymous survey designed to capture both data and real team experience across 18 core drivers.

Alongside The Happiness Survey, participants are invited to take part in confidential interviews, adding qualitative depth and helping uncover the reality behind the data.

We then analyse the findings to identify patterns, strengths and engagement gaps, mapping results directly to your culture drivers and business priorities.

How long does it take?2026-04-28T15:45:42+00:00

The Happiness Survey takes employees 10–15 minutes to complete.

Results and the action plan are typically delivered within a month of The Happiness Survey closing.

Is The Happiness Survey anonymous?2026-04-28T15:46:08+00:00

Yes! The Happiness Survey is fully anonymous.

Team member responses are combined and reported in aggregate form, meaning individual responses are never shared. Interviews are voluntary and insights are reported without identifying individuals.

What do we receive at the end of The Happiness Survey?2026-04-28T16:04:40+00:00

A clear, structured output designed to support decision making and action:

  • Benchmarking against construction industry data
  • A defined culture baseline across 18 drivers
  • Identification of strengths to build on
  • Clear opportunities to strengthen culture and close engagement gaps
  • A prioritised, practical action plan

This ensures the insight translates directly into meaningful change, not just data.

Can results be segmented?2026-04-28T16:05:06+00:00

Yes! Results can be segmented by demographics including:

  • Project vs Office Staff
  • Department
  • Tenure
  • Role Level
  • General demographics such as ethnicity, gender etc

All segmentation is provided while maintaining full anonymity.

How often should we run The Happiness Survey?2026-04-28T16:05:30+00:00

Most construction businesses run The Happiness Survey annually to track progress and monitor cultural health.

Some organisations choose to repeat The Happiness Survey as a pulse every 6–12 months, particularly after implementing culture initiatives or leadership programmes.

What makes The Happiness Survey different from other engagement surveys?2026-04-28T16:06:00+00:00

The Happiness Survey is designed specifically for construction and built to go beyond standard engagement surveys.

  • Built for construction: Benchmarking is based on construction industry data, giving you relevant, real-world context rather than generic comparisons.
  • Insight that drives action: The focus is not just on collecting data, but on translating insight into clear, practical steps that improve team experience and performance.
  • A complete view of culture: Rather than relying on a single score, The Happiness Survey measures 18 drivers of workplace happiness, providing a deeper understanding of how management, leadership, communications and career development are experienced across your team.
  • Data and real experience combined: Quantitative results are supported by qualitative insight, helping you understand not just what is happening, but why.

This approach gives construction leaders a clear, data-led understanding of their culture, enabling more confident decisions and more targeted improvement.

Organisations with a strong onboarding process improve new hire retention by 82% and productivity by over 70% — and in construction, those numbers really matter.

  • Safety culture
  • Long-term engagement & tenure
What is changing with employment law in 2026?2026-04-28T16:14:18+00:00

From 2026, the unfair dismissal qualifying period is expected to reduce from two years to six months.

This makes the first six months of employment more important than ever. Construction businesses with clear onboarding, defined performance expectations and solid documentation processes will be well placed to support their people and protect their business.
